I am very lucky in that, since I don't look pregnant, just perhaps like I gained a little weight, only people who know treat me weirdly (and my class has had a huge number of babies so more pregnancies aren't that exciting... I believe we've exceeded 15 in a class of less than 100). I'm also lucky that I get recorded lectures (with some delay) so I only have to be in person for lab every week. It's very cushy and I enjoy it a lot, but I should probably not take it for granted either.

BUT boo on jobs that ruin families and boo on fields that think it's acceptable for anyone to work 50+ hour weeks regularly. It's good we're making strides but it's hard that it's such slow progress.Ms Future PharmDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12909264711431064432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8315393574670249538.post-39465738389487481922013-01-25T10:50:38.079-06:002013-01-25T10:50:38.079-06:00This is so weird. I don't remember what I said except that I could talk about this with you for hours. I didn't have exactly the same experience as you in that I do think I was treated differently sometimes as a pregnant student (and interviewing while eight months pregnant = holy hell), but yeah, just yeah. Regarding your disclaimer: I am in a VERY family friendly job right now, and feel very lucky, but I made a HUGE financial compromise to be here. There's just so much to think about and talk about and work on as a society. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
